My TWA Hair Affair

I love my TWA hair. The funny thing is I didn’t realize how much I loved it until I went natural and tried to grow out this full head of flowing curls. I’m not a very patient person at all, so trying to grow my hair out was not the best idea. First of all, I hate the in-between stage which is right around six months post-big chop. Second of all, I hate trying to style my hair. I like to wash and go. Also, about 60% of my hair is a wavy texture so the ends are really straight. Finally, I just look really good (at least I think so) with TWA hair.

Wash N Go Style: The Side Part Teeny Weeny Afro

I woke up this morning feeling like playing with my makeup. But what's a cute face without cute hair. So, I decided to do a little wash n go style with a side part. For my wash n go, I used water, ecostyler gel argan oil and cantu shea butter leave in conditioner. After co-washing my hair, I massaged about a quarter size of leave-in conditioner into my hair. Using too much can cause hair to flake when your teeny weeny afro dries. Once the leave-in conditioner was massaged into my hair well, I added about forefinger scoop full of ecostyler. I apply it like I would lotion by sharing the scoop on both hands then distributing it into my hair. Again, I want to use just enough to make my curls pop. My hair is fine and wavy in the top, so oversaturating it with gel will weigh it down too much, resulting in flat hair in the crown area. Next, I took a rattail comb and parted in slightly.
